Music.
We spend most of our lives listening to music, whether we like it or not, it encompasses our lives daily. There’s no other artistic expression that we consume more than music, which is amazing in its own right. We each have our own preference, of which, we can share that space with other people who also enjoy said preference. There’s something amazing about music that just can’t be replicated by other genres of art.
Music is the bridge to universal connection. Great artists make great tunes, but amazing artists have this ability to let music flow through them. They could tap the side of the glass and it would sound… different. These amazing artists have this ability to connect emotion, passion, and rhythm into their work, and on a soul level you can feel the difference.
One of my best friends Gray, really inspires me, in many ways but his raw talent and curiosity is something I think about daily. He taught himself how to play music, purely through sound and melody. He couldn’t read sheet music, well into his teenage years, but listening to him play the piano would inspire me more than any person ever could. There’s something so satisfying about having those people in your lives that are so naturally gifted at something. It makes you want to chase the feeling of just being good at something.
That’s what music is though, it’s inspiring, and it can change the trajectory of your life. It can make you realize some things are far more important than others. It enables you to relive past memories, through the good and bad. Music has always been there, and it will continue to be.
